U13-16 We allow all 2005-2002 children to play in this group. The reason for this is to allow as many kids as we can the opportunity to play recreational soccer. While 95% of the kids are 2005/2004(U13/14), Chariho, along with South County and Westerly have all given access to the next group (U15/16). We would not have enough players for any teams at the older group even if we combined all three towns. It is for that reason we allow them to play. Also, because the numbers of kids playing at this ages drops significantly, all three town come together in one league to allow us the opportunity to play other teams instead of the same one every week. So at this age group, the games will rotate between 3 locations. Westerly Gingerella field, South County at Tuckertown fields and at Ninigret. Our teams will have at least 4 of the 8 games at Ninigret.
Coaches: First, a huge thank you for volunteering your time to our local children and community by coaching this Fall. If you need replacement of any equipment or ice packs, please see the concession stand on game day. If you have a ball that needs to be replaced, please bring it to concession building and we will replace it.
Family Day, scheduled for October 14th where there will be food and fun. Also scheduled that day is our annual fundraiser 3 V 3 tournament. All proceeds benefit a Wish Come True and Chariho Youth Soccer Scholarship Fund. Please see concession stand for team entrance form for this fun event and support our graduating seniors and A Wish Come True.
Picture Day is September 30th and the picture schedule will be posted by September 16th. The forms will be handed out by your coaches along with your uniform. You will be hearing from your coach soon but not everyone will here something at the same time as every coach will be reaching out to their team on their own time frame but hopefully soon.
Lastly, we still need some coaches and we are also looking for volunteers. Every year we elect new members to our Board of Directors. Many of these members have been on for years, while many will continue to stay involved, others are in need of a break. We will have areas that need to be filled. Please consider helping out if you can to keep our soccer club growing and to stay strong. You don’t need to be an expert in soccer, or have any knowledge of the game, just willing to do a part and help in any way you think you could benefit our club and children. Our number one goal has been to keep fees low and continue to offer this great sport to our local children. Please see concession stand or email the registrar Jill Oatley or president Leray Rinne.
The schedules will be posted shortly and enjoy the season. Official start is September 9 and ends November 4th.
