Fall 2019 Registration Update

“Soccer RI” , which Chariho Youth Soccer is affiliated under, adopted a new registration process and database this year starting with Fall Registrations. The program is still being rolled out, but we expect registration to open this month. A flyer will be sent home from schools and information will be posted here once the program is ready to go. Please stay tuned…

Fall 2019 Referees Needed!

LOOKING TO EARN SOME EXTRA CASH ON THE WEEKEND??

REFEREES CAN MAKE $20 TO $30 A WEEKEND OR MORE!!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A PLAYER, JUST LEARN THE RULES.

To be a referee you MUST:

  • Be 12 yrs old or in the Seventh grade in September 2018
  • Attend referee clinics on May 6th &  8th 6 pm – 8pm (In 5th /6th grade cafeteria CMS)
  • Pass an online test

Chariho U4-U6 Soccer Academy Registration Open

The Chariho U4-U6 Soccer Academy is now open to players born 2013-2016!

This all-new program, designed by URI Women’s Soccer Assistant Davis Fox, focuses on familiarity and comfort with a soccer ball within a fun learning environment. 

Players under 4 years old will learn in an exciting, creative environment with one soccer ball per player to maximize time spent on the ball. 

Player 4-6 years old will learn the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and spacing through small-sided games. Each Academy graduate will take home a t-shirt and their very own soccer ball!

About Coach Davis:
Coach Davis is a lifelong lover of the game. He has coached youth soccer for nearly a decade and has two years of experience coaching collegiately. He is also the Junior Academy Director for NEFC Southeast, working with players all across Rhode Island and Southeastern Mass. He specialized in athletic performance and youth development and brings the energy of ten coaches his size to every session!

When: Saturday mornings 9:00-11:00
U4- 9:00-9:45
U6- 10:00-11:00
Starting 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 6/1, and 6/8
Cost: $75.00 per player

ABOUT MADDIE POTTS

A kind, compassionate competitor and friend to so many on and off the field, seventeen-year old Maddie Potts suffered a brain aneurysm on September 23, 2017 as she lined up to take a free kick. Maddie died at the hospital the next day. Maddie was a senior, a captain, and soccer and lacrosse player at Chariho High School. Cherishing her indomitable, positive spirit, her family identifies with Positive Coaching Alliance’s message and mission to help develop Better Athletes, Better People through sports done right. CYSA Pasta Dinner

CYSA is hosting a Pasta Dinner on Saturday, December 1, 2018 to benefit the CYSA Maddie Potts Scholarship and Rosemary’s Wish Kids. This fundraiser is replacing our 2018 CYSA 3v3 Jamboree.

Time: 4-6:30PM

Location: Carolina Richmond Fire Station, 208 Richmond Townhouse Rd, Richmond, RI 02812

Adults: $8
Children U8-younger-$6
**With 2 cans or dry goods donation for RICAN Center in Charlestown.

Dinner:
Pasta, meatballs, salad, dessert, beverages

Raffle tickets being sold: $1/each or $5/Six tickets, drawings held at 6:PM

Raffles Items include: Two Ten Oyster Bar, Supercharged Indoor Go Kart and Trampoline Park, Ivory Ella gear, Sweenor’s Chocolates, Rock Spot Indoor Climbing, Pfizer Health basket, Clark Farms, over 20 different Raffle Items will be available!

Spring 2019 Tryouts

Tryouts will be November 17, 2018 at Ninigrit Park

Boys:
8U-10U (birth years 2009, 2010, 2011) – 10am -11am
11U-14U (birth years 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005) – 11:15-12:30

Girls:
8U-10U (birth years 2009, 2010, 2011) – 1pm -2pm
11U-14U (birth years 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005) – 2pm-3:15pm

If your child was born prior to 2005 and you are interested in them playing on a team, please contact me directly at competitive@chariho.com. If there is enough interest we may be able to field a team.

All participants MUST bring a ball, water bottle and be wearing cleats and shin guards.

ANYONE WISHING TO BE PLACED ON A SPRING COMPETITIVE TEAM MUST ATTEND TRYOUTS/BE EVALUATED

*We are always looking for volunteers with soccer experience to help coach. Please contact me if you are interested.

NOTICE – Today’s Game Update

U16 and U12 Championship games at 10:30 are still on today.   All other games have been cancelled.

Coaches please return your equipment at 10:30 today and pick up your trophies, we will be on the fields.  If weather is real bad look for us under the main pavilion in the parking lot.

CYSA Cancellations for 10/27/2018

In anticipation of a very wet and rainy day tomorrow, all rec games, family day, and 3v3 tournament games have been cancelled for tomorrow 10/27.

For all SuperLiga competitive games, please be sure to check for “RainedOut” notifications and/or check the SuperLiga website to determine the status of your game.

Rosemary’s Wish Kids 3v3 Jamboree

CYSA is partnering with Rosemary’s Wish Kids to bring our 2018 3v3 Jamboree on Saturday October 20, 2018.

All games are held from 1:00-5:00PM, jamboree details, registration forms and rules are available here.

Rosemary Bowers has been granting wishes since 1982. Rosemary left A Wish Come True in 2013 knowing there was more work to be done. She founded Rosemary’s Wish Kids, Inc. (RWK) in 2016. RWK grants “wishes” to local children and young adults ages 3 thru 21 who have life threatening illnesses living in RI and Southeastern MA. CYSA is proud to partner with this family organization.

CYSA has been providing an annual college scholarship to one female and one male graduating senior from the Chariho community for the past 7 years.

Please consider volunteering, participating and forming a team, eligible age groups are from U8-Adults.
